The cheese of Banon
On the Lure moutain sides, the flocks of goats benefit
the best conditions to give the breeders the
chance to offer us a nice variety of cheeses.
The administrative center of Revest
des Brousses gave its name to the most famous of these cheeses from
Provence.
Its tomes get dry covered with scrubland savory leaves
and laced with marc eau de vie . Then they are folded and served inside
chesnut leaves.
The fête du fromage (Cheese Feast), every
July, is an event not to miss if you are around there at that time.
