In 1967, Yvan Magnani finalised his last year as an art student at Academy Brera in Milano. He was at the time involved with Triennale of Milan, where his paintings were prized.

It was the start of an itinery, that took him the lenght and bredth of Europe (Italy, France, Germany). His voyages ended when he reached Luberon, in southern France, where he worked for the past seven years.

After a " abstract " period, influenced primerely by Serge Poliakof and Nicolas de Stael, ne veered towards " expresionisme ", and has been perfecting this tendency for about six years.
